WHY? BECAUSE WE CARE!

Pasig Penguins is a non-government organization reliant on non-politicaly aligned, environmentally conscious members of society. The tireless efforts of the volunteers to release penguins back into their natural habitats has gone un-noticed for more than ten years and has been funded by concerned individuals who often prefer to remain anonymous.

UPCOMING PROGRAMS

These release programs are becoming increasingly expensive, particularly the legal bills.  The World Wide Penguins undertake a number of fundraising activities, principally at sporting events around Asia where scrutiny of the scientific basis of the program is lowest.  Please send any donations to the address below if you too want to make a valuable contribution to change even a tiny bit of the Manila Eco system.

PENGUIN GIVEN A KNIGHTHOOD

A THREE foot tall penguin named Nils Olav has received a knighthood - adding to his medals for good conduct and his role as honorary colonel-in-chief of the Norwegian King's Guard.
The esteemed bird - who resides at Scotland's Edinburgh Zoo - is the latest incarnation of the original Nils Olav who was made an honorary member of the elite King's Guard in 1972 after he was chosen as a mascot by lieutenant Nils Egelien.
Zoo spokeswoman Maxine Finlay said the guards adopted the penguin following one of their regular visits to the zoo during the annual Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Associated Press reported.
